Carlton Cole Hangs Up His Boots at 38

Former Premier League Striker Calls Time on Burgeoning Coaching Career

Cole, who played for Chelsea, West Ham United, and Celtic, has decided to step away from the game after a successful spell as a coach with the Blues' academy.

The 38-year-old, who scored 52 goals in 288 Premier League appearances, had been working with Chelsea's Under-18s since 2019, but has now decided to leave the club to focus on other ventures.

"I've had a great time at Chelsea, but I feel like now is the right time for me to move on," Cole told the club's website.

"I've learned a lot during my time here, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such talented players and coaches.

"I'm excited about what the future holds, and I'm looking forward to new challenges."
