Mavericks Hope to Level Series Against Defiant Suns With Paul Foul-Ridden

James Harden and Ivica Zubac led the Los Angeles Clippers to a 118-110 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference first-round playoff opener on Tuesday night.

Harden finished with a team-high 28 points, while Zubac set his playoff career high with 20 points and 17 rebounds. Kawhi Leonard missed the game due to a knee injury.

The Mavericks were led by Luka Doncic, who had 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists. However, Doncic was hampered by foul trouble and fouled out with 3:40 remaining in the game.

The Clippers led by as many as 17 points in the second half, but the Mavericks rallied to cut the deficit to 100-98 with 5:39 remaining. However, the Clippers responded with a 9-0 run to put the game away.

The Mavericks will now host the Clippers in Game 2 on Thursday night. The Clippers will be looking to take a 2-0 lead in the series, while the Mavericks will be looking to even the series at 1-1.
