Yankees Outfielder Willie Calhoun Lands on Injured List with Quad Injury

Another Hit to the Yankees Outfield

Injured During Live Pitch

The New York Yankees' already depleted outfield took another blow on Thursday as Willie Calhoun was placed on the injured list with a quadriceps injury. The injury occurred during a live batting practice session when Calhoun was hit by a pitch from Carlos Rodón.

Calhoun, who had been designated as the Yankees' hitter, was forced to leave the game after suffering the injury in the second inning. The Yankees went on to win the game 4-2 over the Mariners.

This latest injury adds to the Yankees' growing list of outfielders who have been sidelined this season. Aaron Hicks and Giancarlo Stanton are both currently on the injured list, and Joey Gallo has been struggling with an oblique injury.

The Yankees have recalled Oswaldo Cabrera from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to take Calhoun's place on the roster. Cabrera has been hitting well in Triple-A, batting .295 with four home runs and 16 RBIs.

The Yankees will hope that Calhoun's injury is not serious, but his absence will leave a big hole in their outfield. The Yankees are currently in a tight race for the AL East title, and they will need all hands on deck to make a run at the playoffs.
